Ladbrokes and PLO

We are here at the Ladbroke’s VIP lounge and it is a UK company and these guys do take care of the players.  They are the only VIP lounge for poker rooms so far and they are from the UK and don’t take any US players.  So we’re going to go inside and see what’s happening there.

So Ladbrokes are going to be part of my blog today.

Well yesterday the pot limit Omaha, the worst thing that can happen is when you’ve got aces and someone else has aces.  But in Omaha it happens quite often.  One in every few thousand hands where it will be aces against aces - there was a raise.  I had aces, I re-raised, the guy goes all in, we get all in, this guy’s obviously from the UK.

We both have aces and we both have one flush draw, with one of the aces suited.   He has a queen in his hand, I have 9-3, and he has Q-3.  So he’s in a little bit better position.  But it’s like 50-50.  He flops a queen, he turns a queen, so I’m totally over this stuff, I’m gone; I played really well.  I had 40,000 thousand in chips and I was gone, gone, gone.  I was absolutely devastated, I played all day with no results and just missed day 2 by about 10 minutes. I could have been in another one, but it was very disappointing to be out of the tournament.

Today were playing the 1,000 rebuy.  I had one rebuy and doubled up straightaway so it’s been very cheap.  I expected to spend up to 25 to 30,000 in this and it’s only cost me 4000 total, so I’m pretty happy.  I’ve probably got about 12,000 in chips so that’s a good start and I’m in good position.  This will be a fine event.

Last year I made the final table of this event but Phil Hellmuth busted me very early.  I had a low stack and he won it so this year maybe I can do it again. I have the confidence and I’m playing well so I’ll be going for my second final table which is shorthanded down to the final table.  So I’m lucky.  I’m lucky and looking for better results.

Anyway…I’m checking out.  If I bust out of this, I’ll play the Deuce to 7 with 5,000 rebuys a couple of days from now.  So everyone take care…
