Good news from Singapore

I started out really badly. After two levels I was down to 5k from the 10k start with just no chance at all. I was at a table with three complete donkeys. What a table! I could not hit anything but fortunately I found patience, I played, I waited, and I plugged away.

My reward came on the last hand before the break. I flopped ‘the nuts’. I had A-2 spades and three magical cards appeared on the flop, the 8-5-9 spades. I raised a player all-in on the turn and he called me with 7-7. I was back in action!

Later on I took complete control and captained the table to everyone’s satisfaction. I cruised up to 20k before we were chosen as the main TV table. The action was fast and hot when we got there. Everyone wanted to make some moves but I dominated them all and was up to 65k when the average stack was around 15k. It became the absolutely phenomenal, Amazing Total Tony G Domination.

I hit another very tough period later on. The TV table broke and I was moved to a tough table with several very good players. I had a hand where a player went all in for 12.5k and I looked down to find J-J and called. The big blind went all-in for another 35k or so and I managed to lay my hand down. The first raiser had A-Q but the blind had A-A. I escaped but still lost 12.5 and lost several races where I had 6-6 vs. A-Q so there were very tough times the rest of the day. But I played really well – without any mistakes - and I feel great. I have 36.500 with 70 players left and I’m about average.

I feel great. I am getting close to the money but that is not what I am after. I am after a big stack in the final and I am definitely going to make it this time. The bookmakers had me favored in front of Gus Hansen and I have to prove them right. Gus is out and there’s not too much talent left. I feel strong.

Players from Mongolia are around. Where is poker in Asia going?? Straight up is my thought. It’s never going to slow down. Next stop for the Asian Poker Tour is Goa India. The thought is exciting but first things first. I want to win this one.

I still have time for YOU - meet me at Tony G. Poker.
