PPL Draft Weekend
I flew into Vegas for the PPL draft, not to play poker; I just came for the draft.
Friday we had the get together and Chip Reese and his team explained how the draft would work and what the PPL is all about. And let me tell you it blew my mind. This is a great thing for poker and will be massive. I really believe that the fans need the same people, teams that they can associate with. I don’t believe that six random finalists on the WPT can work - that is why their ratings are dropping. Although I appreciate what the WPT has done for poker, their role has helped everyone, but now the hot thing in poker for 2007 will the Professional Poker League (PPL). All the best players will be playing pressure poker two times a week - this event will make cable TV.
I was really excited and wanted to know who I would play with. I was hoping to be with Doyle Brunson cause he was always my hero from my start of poker and I admire how he has played poker all his life and is still at the top of the game today. So my Team is: Doyle, his son Todd Brunson, Hoyt Corkins, Isabelle Mercier, Humberto Brenes, Michael Grazc, Chip Jet, and me. I was the 41st pick right near the end but I deserve to be there as all the very best players were there.
The big missing guy is Phil Hellmuth. I understand Phil demanded a private jet pick him up every Tuesday. And he said that without, him there can be no PPL - anyhow this is what I heard not that it’s a fact by any way or form. But Hellmuth is out of the PPL and this is a huge shock as is truly the poker league that every pro needs and wants to be in. Sixty-four players are were in the draft and the number one pick was Chau Giang, number two is the new, hot kid on the block Patrick Antonious from Finland. I hear he has cleaned them up online for 3M in the last few weeks and this kid is the super star and is also now expecting a baby which is great. Annie Duke was the number three pick and she is a great player. Gus Hansen and David Benjamin were all close by. Phil Ivey is a team captain with Barry Greenstein.
I wish the PPL all the best and all the players are really excited. The draft was real special and everyone loved it. Mike Matusow was very upset and surprised to be one of the last chosen. But Amir Vahedi was the last pick; the mouth was selected by Daniel Negreanu and Jennifer Harman. This will be fun and I hope to make a show for all to see so keep an eye out for this will be the biggest thing in poker. It will be the only poker show that people will want to watch. There are eight teams with eight players each.
Make sure you stop by and play poker with me on Tony G. Poker. I have a great deposit bonus and rakeback deal for all new sign-ups. Don’t wait! I’m open to all US citizens.

Tony, a follower from Chile. First time here, I’m a Manager, for an online site which I wont name. Although I’m a pilot, I got my job for being the “most experienced” player online, funny thing, I’ve been only around for 3 years!
I follow your game, and your style suits my personality, so I try stirring things up in our live tournaments around here. Please keep up your style. I’ll check your blog more often, and I’ll keep trying to make poker grow in South America.
