Poker After Dark in Las Vegas

I arrived from Cardiff and checked into the Wynn Resort and Hotel. It’s going to be a short stay but it’s going to be a memorable one, hopefully. I have to get all the way out to the South Coast to play this Poker After Dark, the South Coast Casino where this rodeo is held, is probably an hours drive with the way the traffic is now-a-days in Las Vegas - it’s terrible. I don’t see why any one wants to come and live here. It takes you an hour to drive anywhere. There are just too many cars, and too many people here. So it takes me an hour to get to the South Coast Casino, it’s out in nowhere, somewhere past Blue Diamond Road.

It’s going to be an exciting day. I’ve got six players to beat today. Every body starts with $20,000 in chips, the Blinds are $100-200, it’s a very nice structure with 40 minute levels, so I know I’m not going to be rushing. There is no point in rushing.

I’ve got, on my table, Gus Hansen, Chris (Jesus) Ferguson, Clonie Gowan, Sam Farha, and Ted Forrest is on my right. So it’s going to be a table that’s going to be interesting. It’s a great table and this is a great match.

I played really, really good poker. And I managed to play this all the way down, to the level of $1,200. It’s a great tournament, great structure, great TV, starting January the 2nd on Poker After Dark on NBC. Everyone can tune in.

My second heat the next day was Phil Ivey, Mike Matusow, Phil Hellmuth, Sam Farha, and Andy Bloch. The very big news here is that I busted Phil Hellmuth again. I played a pretty decent tournament again so I went very, very deep with it. It was also a disappointment.

Everyone keep an eye for this - Poker After Dark. I think it’s going to be after the late night show that they have in the US, beginning January 2nd, every day for 10 weeks.

But my trip to Las Vegas is over and I’m taking the next flight out to Dublin to play the European Poker Tour.
