WSOP Update
I got busted in the hold em – I was pretty unlucky, and as you know the guy made a big move on me, and took most of my chips with a backdoor straight.
So, I went and played the Razz, and I couldn’t pick up a hand. Ted Forrest busted me out, I got all in the money in with an 8 made, Ted had a worse 8, and needed to catch a 3, 4 or 7 to get there. Ted did catch his card, and I didn’t improve, which I didn’t, and I was out. It’s been a long day, but no results.
I hope everyone watched the CBS show today. Yosh Nakano outclassed me, but I did lose to a two outer there. I had the Intercontinental Championships won, unless a 5 hit, which it did, and it got me.
I hope everyone enjoyed the show, and I hope to make more TV final tables in the future. Good luck, everyone.

Loved seeing you on TV again. You played it right and he got lucky the one time it counted.
Do you play online on your own site now? Or where are you???

Hi Tony,
I’ve been playing a lot of ring games at Tony G Poker recently. I usually play sit n gos, but as they’re very quiet at the moment, I’ve turned to ring games. I’m just learning this method of playing poker, and I’ve had my ups and downs. A hand I played earlier annoyed me, and I want your opinion as to whether or not I played the hand correctly.
I was the big blind and got dealt 10 5 off-suit. There were no raises, and three of us saw a flop of 5 10 A, with two diamonds. Some guy bet the size of the pot and I re-raised him with my two pair. He then went all-in for the rest of his stack($23). I had over $50, and called him. He turned over aces and tens, and there was no help for me. Should I have suspected something, and folded as there were a lot of hands that could beat me, or would most players call in that position? It’s hard to fold twenty hands in a row, then flop two pair and fold. Thanks Tony,
John.

Enjoyed the CBS show… it was interesting seeing your two contrasting styles. I enjoyed the hell out of the hand where you went all in with the T7 even though you were unlucky enough to run into two kings. Like you said, if he has AK there he has to throw it away. The way you handle bad beats is to be admired!

Thanks Tony, sometimes it’s handy to have a professional poker player to turn to in moments of crisis! I’m finding that ring games are very different to sit n gos- losing a lot of money in one hand(I got beat by a better full house the other day) takes some getting used to, but taking it back off of them when they stupidly call your superior hand more than makes up for it! Cheers.
