Come and get me & get a WSOP main event seat
Well as you know I am going to be playing all the events a the WSOP this year. Want to join me in the main event?
On Friday June 23rd at 20:00 EST there is another great Team PokerNews WSOP freeroll. Except this time, instead of one Team PokerNews WSOP package there will be THREE. This triple Freeroll is taking place at Doyles Room (http://www.pokernews.com/doyles-room). The 1st and 2nd place will win a package, but the a 3rd package will be given away to the player that knocks me out. I will be playing in this Freeroll under my usual name of “wraptduckâ€?, so come and take me down and meet me at the WSOP. Team PokerNews winners also get some other benefits (see: http://www.pokernews.com/wsop-2006/members/). To play with us in this Doyles Room freeroll you just have to get an account through PokerNews and deposit at least 2 days before June 23. This is sure to be a great Freeroll. When I go all in I am sure to be called as there is $12k WSOP package on the line! So I guess I shouldn’t bluff too much…
Take a look how I behave during a WPT event some video clips and you will really want to knock me out in this event:

Nice work - still workiong my way through cyberspace.

Since this is a freerole to get into the WSOP, won’t it fill up extremely fast? Is there any point in my downloading the doyle’s room program, or will it fill up really quickly? I’d do it right now but I need to go to work. I’ll give it a bash later. This sounds interesting, I’d love to come and knock you out Tony!
I sat and watched that WPT event in Paris with my Dad ages ago, Tony. He used to play cards back in the 70s, but is more into his gardening now. He couldn’t believe that your particular brand of abuse was permitted at the table- he felt that you were a bit over the top. I thought it was sheer genius. You were obviously quite drunk and just trying everything in your power to win the event. There’s nothing wrong with that in my book. If it was me who was on the receiving end of your verbal assault, I’d just smile and appreciate the humour.

Check out Tony in “Partypoker.com - Football and Poker Legends Cup - Canada vs. Australia - 01 Jun 2006″ which just aired in the UK! I downloaded form ThePokerBay dot ORG (wont let me post proper links here).

John,
The Doyles Room free roll will be great value it will not fill up dont worry I think about 200 players will play in it so its good odds to win a seat.

Tony, I will be looking forward to playing against you in these upcoming WSOP events. I am playing so well right now, making good reads, and surprisingly running decent too. Hopefully I will see you at the final table so I can get some revenge on you big guy, LOL. Take Care

Well, I’ve registered through the links you provided, Tony, and I have deposited the required amount. I don’t see any links for the WSOP freerole, but I’m guessing that they’ll spring up nearer the time. Can you confirm this, or is there something I’m missing? Sorry to be such a nuisance. If all goes to plan, maybe I’ll end up at a table with you and Phil!

Tony:
Just minutes ago we (wife and I) saw you at Monte Carlo on FOX. Watched you knock out mike the mouth. It was heaven. Yes a ballerina you should have been and are. You danced him right out the door. Thanks for the videos on the Paris tourney. Some of my favorites. Especially like it towards the end when you don’t even look at the cards but only at surinder. Maybe you could put some of that on. My wife is a mental health therapist (good poker player too) and she says she has never seen anyone even close to you in terms of complete psychological domination of a table. The players are destroyed before they even get their cards. Believe me, Phil Hellmuth is praying every night that he never has to sit at the same table with you again.

Nah, it won’t let me in, so I e-mailed Poker News for help. It’s telling me that it’s ‘by invitation only’ but I definitely signed up by following the promotional links at Poker News, so I hope they can sort it out. Cheers.

Hi Tony, I just got a nice e-mail from a chap called Gareth at Poker News, who explained that I won’t be able to register yet, and that I shouldn’t worry about it. Apparently you can’t register until only a few days before the freerole.
I’ve been practicing at Doyle’s Room over the last few days, which seems to have some very easy competition. Easier than Ultimate Bet which has a ton of fish at the lower buy-ins. I’ve worked my $25 deposit up to over $80 playing $5 sit n gos over the last few days. Looking forward to that freerole- I’ve definitely got a chance if I get some cards, and I don’t get some really bad beats!

I would love for you to win and join me at the WSOP main event, you do have a good shot I think less then 200 will play that event so those a great odds for a free roll.

Tony. I was wondering what year those videos were from and if you know what series/episode it is? Thanks.

Mike: Hope you kon’t mind me jumping in, but I am a hardcore Tony G fan. The event was last year’s Grand Prix de Paris. They showed it again around late winter this year(Feb?). It is definitely the best tony g performance I have yet seen. Even though he finishes second, you will see him move through players like a hot knife through summer butter. He batters them psychologically: but, and this is important, he is always a gentleman when he walks them out the door and when he himself either gets beat, gets a bad beat or loses the headsup. In terms of table domination psychologically, he makes the likes of mike the mouth, the brat hellmuth, sean sheiky and the rest, look like kindergarteners.
For the most part Tony got terrible cards and was very unlucky in the final few hands — if you haven’t seen the whole thing, you gotta. Now, it was televised last year so it may have been played in 04 — I am not sure of that. But anyway, you can find it in the March 2005 log right here on this blog — it IS controversial; but if you understand Tony, as I think I do, you will notice that he never whines about a bad beat, no hystrionics when he loses, always smiling at the good fortune of his fellow players. But as soon as the two down cards are dealt he turns into , how shall I put it, the Hannibal Lecter of poker (he devours is table enemies — with a fine chianti — lol).

Mike:
How would you like to be an amateur, luck out and sit at a final wpt event with Tony G at the table? I think I would just go all in every hand just to get it over with and get out of there. I would be a fool, but at least I would be a fool of my own making, not a fool of someone else’s design — sort of a sick and twisted control of my own destiny (of being a fool — lol, lol). Tony makes me nervous when I watch him on tv: events thousands of miles away and taped months in the past, I can’t imagine the pressure of playing him live. I have also watched him crush several oppponents (never saw him lose a single sitting) on the net. It is astounding, as he seems to read players through cyberspace. And Hellmuth wants a rematch — yeah, right. Hellmuth probably also wants to play tiger woods for a 100k a hole at pinehurst no.2!!!!!
