Bellagio $5k - Out.
I’m out. It’s OK. I had the big blind again. The chip leader raised 2,300 – I had 9,000 left. I picked up QJ suited. Great opportunity to make a move – there’s 4,000 in the middle. If I can pick it up without a flop, its great. Also, I could have the best hand against the chip leader. Unfortunately, he had Aces. I flopped a Queen, but couldn’t improve anymore, and I am out.
I had a great time, and I feel good. A good warm up before the main event.
That’s poker, baby.

Tony
Big fan of yours - Ive been playing about 9 months now and enjoy live events at all my local casinos which usually attract 100+ players. I ran into Aces myself a couple of weeks ago and went out 11th when the money is paid out to 10th!. I was on a 5 seater table (the other had 6) and we were waiting for the next out for the final table. I picked up AQ but was raised 1/4 my stack by the guy before me. I thought about it and called. Only us two in it. Flop 2 7 Q. He moved all in (most of my chips) - biggest decision call of my career so far. I called and he had aces and that was me out ‘on the bubble’. Frustrating as I went out 11th again the following week though I was very short stacked and made my move on A 5 suited and ran into a pair of 10s. Ah well - made the final table quite a few times so things not too bad! Going to the EPT event in Deauville in February to watch the main event and play in the 500e tourney. Have a good christmas and a very prosperous new year.

In that situtaion it could be better to go all with AQ then to just call. Short handed I would not call with AQ the odds of hitting are tough by raising you can get many players to fold 8-8 and get a huge edge. I would also fold A-Q if a very solid player raised before me.
Do not get frustrated when you go out its ok best way towards the bubble is to be very aggresive at that stage.

Thanks Tony - good advice. And he is a very good player who is final table most weeks. I now agree the move was to go ‘all in’ He would have called me with AAs but as you say weaker pairs may have been folded. What I notice is that the two tables go so tight when everybody is waiting for that last person to go. Agressive play at that stage makes sense. Thanks.

Shame about the bad boys taping being postponed. Was there any reason for it, or was it just logistics? I guess you’ll have to keep the kimono on ice for a while.

The bad boys will be held at the commerce I believe. I think the problem was with the contract but the WPT have now re-worded it. It is to do with players image being used in video games for free.

Tony,
I have been a big fan of yours for quite some time now. Your dinkness at the table is so sweet to me. You are a really skilled and good poker player.
Are you ever in the Louisville area? If so on Wed. nights at a little place called Jocks Sports Bar and Grill have some very serious poker being played. If you ever are in town, it’s a great event. Buy in is usually 5k.

Is your image being used? I haven’t seen the game yet. And if so, is it a realistic representation of you, I mean, do you trash talk.
