Ah i’ve seen you..great that you’ve come to poker champs. The best site out there!!
May 10th, 2005 at 9:31 pm
Tony G at Pokerchamps!! Sweet nectar!
The site is truly great. I took 33rd in my first freeroll tourney and that was only because my CPU was acting up.
The flops seem more realist and the interface is perfect. no more of those “action flops” from those other so called sites.

Not sure if I like the site or not. Kind of hard on the eyes. I’ll be putting you out soon though.
May 15th, 2005 at 3:45 am
i was just in a $25 tournament with the notorious Tony G and he was literally the first to be busted out, out of 87 players.
way to show respect to your fellow players by giving them your chips.
May 15th, 2005 at 4:11 am
I saw that too, he went out on a bluff, The thing is that in any high stakes or wpt event that bluff would of worked almost certainly. He isnt used to playing 25 dollar tourneys with a prize pool of 2000 shared among the top 20 players. This guy plays 200/400 no limit so you can why he went out as early as he did. Players call anything and the money doesnt really matter for him.+ he was playing like 4 sit n gos at the time, and at that level he more or less just plays for fun.
May 15th, 2005 at 4:46 am
uh not really.
first, the notorious tony g has bragged about being a great online player. so no excuses saying that he was acting like a pro-tour player rather than an online player.
second, if a pro had a legit hand, he wouldn’t go all-in on his first hand, so that was a give-away that he was bluffing.
May 15th, 2005 at 5:31 am
My point is that if it would of been a High cash game or WPT tourney he woudnt of gone all in with that Q9, amd if he would people would of had the sense to fold.
He is still a great player even though he finished last, it doesnt really matter. He s made more money playing poker then most people who visit this site.
Ill tell you a story so you can undurstand it better.
I remeber when i first started playing, i played 200 freerolls and i was so tight i wouldnt want to go all in with anything less then KK or AA, 6 months later im playing 5/10 and 10/20 on occasion avereging 2k everyday and had made over 250 thousand dollars. Of course i had spent allot of it on a car, clothes, WPT buy in(finished 2 spots away from the prize pool) and a bunch of other stuff. I made an investement and left myself with 10k in bankroll money(way to little by the way).
A couple of days go by and i lost the 10 k, I was bust i had no money left except in belongings and food and rent money. Of course i called a fellow buddy of mine who also is a poker player and he lent me 20 k so i could get back in the game.(as i had done for him a couple of times). But the problem was i wasnt going to get the money for another 2 days and since ive been playing poker non stop for six months i was getting restless 1 day before iw as going to get the money. So i decided to watch people play for a couple of hours. And then i noticed a freeoll, a 1000 freeroll on prima poker, i figured- hey, i might aswell play even though the prize pool is so small, just for fun.
As i started playing i noticed allot of weak plays and the usual all in move that is standard in a freeoll, my style of play was changed, i played all-in with 44 and kj and was doing great, i bluffed with a 57 and someone called, it didnt really matter. 20 minutes in the game i was already bored and it felt as i was playing for nuthing, so i played like it didnt matter, because it didnt, even if i would of got lucky and win the thing the prizepool would of been like 200 bucks and that is just not enough money for me, so i played recklessly and lost and it didnt even bother me.
So u see, Tony going out first on a bluff doesnt mean he is a bad player, it just emans he doesnt care. He is more or less there to promote the site and thats it, 25 buy in is nothing for him and he probably gets them for free. Watch him play in the cash games and you will see what kind of player he is.
May 15th, 2005 at 5:58 am
yeah well $25 isn’t all that much to me either, so i’m not sure what your point is there. if you have more money that means you can play as poorly as you want? i want you in my game.
anyone who is a ‘real’ poker player wants to win. period. the notorious tony.g may be technically more skilled than me, but he’s a chump.
May 15th, 2005 at 6:53 am
Spoken like a true fish, if u still dont get it then you are just plain stupid, i guess you never heard of the Player ABC theory. Well whatever if he is such a chump i suggest you play him in his normal stakes 100/200 and maybe then you will get a better undurstanding why the bluff move he made going out first is a good move.
But i could say one thing though, if he really wanted to win he would of toned himself down and and not played so agressive, because 100/200 limit is very different from a 25 buy in tournament.
However in the sit n go when he played heads up against another player, you could see that he really wanted to beat the other guy because he laid allot of hands down. If he would of played like that all the time he could of beaten anybody.
You should borrow some money from friends and play this chump in a cash game, im sure you will make allot of money.
May 15th, 2005 at 6:55 am
And another thing, you wanted me in your game huh, well that sounds great, just come to Any primapoker site and sit down at 25/50 no limit.
My nick is TheRazor, looking forward to it.
May 15th, 2005 at 3:40 pm
lol - dude you are either tony g yourself posing as someone else to defend your un-arguably stupid play, or you’ve got a starry-eyed hero worship going for the notorious tony g and think he can do no wrong. either way, i think you need to take up a new hobby.
May 15th, 2005 at 11:46 pm
Lol, Yes Tony G is my favourite player but i am defending my own play the most, I have went out in the first hand allot of times, Lost with AA a couple of times on an all in and the same with AK, just bad luck and i dont like it when players without skill comes and critizes someone who has made more money playing poker then they ever have. I tried to educate you or the other guy who wrote here earlier but he wouldnt listen so ill just let him learn on his own.
And no im not Tony G, i am TheRazor on prima poker and i dont even know Tony G i just like his play.
May 16th, 2005 at 4:03 am
well as i said i don’t doubt that tony has more skill than i do, and although i do need education i doubt you could provide it. i’ve been playing less than a year, after all! i was criticising that play and more importantly, the attitude behind it. in the 6 months i’ve played i’ve been able to move steadily up to the $20/40 tables at the local casino, where i’m averaging 1.5xBB/hr over about 120 hours, which is good but no question that i’d get pummeled in a $100/200 game. but i do know enough to spot and speak to a bad play when i see one.
May 16th, 2005 at 4:14 am
You know shit, you couldnt spot a great play if it hit u on your head.
Forget it, play your 1/2 stakes and be happy.
May 16th, 2005 at 5:35 am
yeah well your hero tony did much better in tonight’s $25 tourney… he was only 5th out instead of 1st out this time. he moved up 4 whole places!
i apologize for calling tony a chump. because that epithet clearly belongs to you. later chump, i’m done talking to you. go solve a rubik’s cube.
May 16th, 2005 at 6:59 am
Doesnt matter if he goes out everytime in the next ten 25 dollar tourneys 1st, he has made the money in 8 out of 5 WPT events and the final table twice.
He is there just promoting and you are such an idiot for not seeing that.
So you are right, this conversation is over.
May 16th, 2005 at 11:54 am
lol, just noticed my error, of course its 5 out of 8…
May 16th, 2005 at 11:35 pm

Hey Tony, my Husband and I were watching the latest Poker tournament on TV and saw you for the first time. You make Poker entertaining, especially hearing the American commentators going on about you, it was a laugh. Anyway we got interested in the game and thanks to you found Poker Champs, downloaded the software and are having great fun. Keep up the Good Work! Malia from South Australia

Poker champs stinks! Bad beats like no tomorrow….runner,,runner sgt looses.
I call it RIVERCHAMPS, and the FREEROLLS are ONCE every 2 HRS if…
Poker Stars is 10 x better, and more realistic. Champs is deposit based. Nothing to do with your play, and everyhting to do with how much you deposit and the software.
Save yourselves the Poker Champs B*ll and go else to have fun while you play.
September 6th, 2005 at 10:37 pm
Man…I have played at Champs a long time and am pretty much fed up with it!.
Nothing but bad beats and river wins constanly. Then you get all the danish players going all in on almost every hand trying to buy pots!
The site has gone down hill big time since the danish and swed’s started playing there….you are right..Poker Stars is a muchbetter and more fair set up than Champs.
BUT the worse thingis when you email them over things they never make changes to the software to make it better and more fair.
i agree - save your money and play elsewhere…sorry Tony…but it is a fact
