5 step party poker sit and go update
Played 21 single table sit and goes at $1065 buy inn and had 3($4500) win 4 seconds($2500) and 4 thirds($1800)
Also played 5 2 table sit and goes at $1065 each but had no results there, a good day won around $4000 for the day was losing about $5000 at one stage. The swings are not as big as I thought paying a lot of rake over the last two days I have paid $3500 in rake. That is one reason I wish that pokerchamps.com got bigger and offered these tournaments I would be getting 50% back there.

Hey Tony,
I watched two of your victories on New Year’s Eve Day. Congratulations on coming back and posting a profit. Do you still like these $1065 STTs (despite the big rake)? When will you play again?

I still like them since players who come up from step 1-2 have very little chance I have been there before and I always felt the pressure when i played in something that was too big for me and mathematically any players that only has 10k bankroll can not play these $1065 even if they come up from step 1. THat is just going on Kelly creteria that I know about from Black Jack.
So untill there is liquidity I have no choice but play every day there is too much money at stake.

Hi Tony,
I am wondering about your comment that players who come from step 1 and step 2 have little chance at step 5. What is it about these players that causes them to fail? I would think they would be pretty good players if they are able to work their way to the top of the ladder. Can you give examples of some common mistakes these players make?
Also, how have you done on step 5 the last few days?
Thanks,
RC

Hi,
The main reason is that these players are playing above there bankroll and they would fell a lot of preassure playing this if they have a bankroll of less tehn 70k.
ALso since they play a qualify tourny strategy there is very different so the palyers like Gigabet who only play step 5 have a big edge since they get into rythim faster.

interesting point about people who won the steps as opposed to those who pay. I just got to step 5 and am getting my head together b4 i start. U r absolutely right, i have never played for these stakes, and i only put up 12 bucks. i would even consider selling this if i could for less than $1000. Can I?

I play a lot of SNGs…im somewhat profitable…i feel like my game falls apart when 4-5 players are left…any recommendations? Are there specific factors to consider at that stage of the tourny?

BigSilly: yes, look for ICM(independent chip model) and use it.
